Discover the 9
Best Ways to Keep Your Body Healthy and Increase Longevity When You are Over 50
"You might already be doing 8 of the 9 things on this list,
having picked up your free copy of the online Recalling Health Guide in the last few years, but the one thing
that we have added to our newly updated 9 Steps 2 A Healthy Body Guide this year is as critical
to your cellular health as air and water.
"What is this scientific breakthrough that is changing how we
approach aging and chronic disease? I call it 'Science finally catching up with nature'! And though the
discovery has been around since 2007, I just learned about it and can not wait to share this well
guarded secret with you here...so pay close attention, please."
Loretta Crosby, RecallingHealth.com Editor
As we age, each of
us tends to focus more on how to stay healthy. And this is not because we care about health, because we really do
not. Let me say that again. Most people do not care about their health, but what we all care about is the lack of
health and how it makes us feel or not feel.
We care about being
stiff in the morning, for no apparent reason. Then the doctor gives you a reason by saying, “Oh that’s just old
Arthur settling in.” I do not know about you, but I do not know one single person name Arthur and I resent this
insidious stranger settling into my bones, parasite-like, uninvited.
We might also care
about declining vision which we have noticed since our 40s.
And what about all
the new aches and pains that show up in different parts of our body, or the creaking sound we make when bending.
What the heck is that anyway?
And no, reading a
Times magazine article which attributes most chronic illnesses to a process called inflammation is not something we
care about either.
We
Want Our Health … and We Want it
Now!
What we all want is
for our health to be with us until we take our last breathe. Is that really too much to ask? We do not want the
walker or the wheelchair or the oxygen mask or the malignant cells taking over our healthy ones.
We do not want
alzheimer's disrupting our mental faculties. We want to be clear on what's going on in our lives. We want to
remember the names of our children instead of trying to keep up with the names of the staff caring for us at the
local nursing home.
And we really do not
care about knowing the technical names for our ailments; we just want to experience the vibrancy of our youth till
the day we die. Period.
Living Longer…Living
Better… Give me both, Please
Achieving optimal
health when you are over 50 can be a challenge, given the physical environment that we live in and the daily
stressors we encounter. Our exposure to air pollutants and toxins, including any chemical products that we might
use in our homes can and do cause problems with our health.
If you are like me,
you might not really care about how long you get to live, because ultimately longevity is left up to our Creator.
But you are concerned about the quality of your life as you age.
Yes, you want to age
gracefully and be fully capable of doing all the things you want to do with your body. Whether it is running two
miles a day or running a marathon, you want to be able to experience the things you cherish, and you want your body
to always be in cooperation mode.
That said, here are the 9 best ways that I have found to promote and recall
optimal health in the body when you are over 50:

1. Eat
Well: Eat living
foods primarily. That means fresh
fruits and vegetables should be eaten every chance you get, and eat them raw more than cooked. Raw foods pack
more useable phyto-nutrients than canned or frozen ones, so get a good book and learn how to prepare tasty,
nutritious raw meals. A VitaMix whole foods emulsifier can provide for
all your juicing needs, as well as prepare fresh hot soups, and even smoothies and all natural ice creams.
These will all be good for your raw foods lifestyle.
Stay away from
processed soy milk. (While I don't have the science behind making this recommendation, I can
tell you that my body treats the commercially sold soy milk as a drug. But unlike aspertame (artificial sweetner)
which causes me to have an instant headache when ingested, soy milk takes a little longer to show its negative side
effects. I personally experienced neurological problems after months of using soy milk to replace cow's milk
in my diet. When I stopped consumption, the symptoms left, and when I started again, the symptoms returned. You may
not have any symptoms from consuming soy milk, but do be cautious when using processed soy, and pay attention
to your body if you decide to keep using it.)
Eat red meats in
moderation, and substitute other high quality proteins in your diet such as beans and brown
rice, avocados, fish and poultry. Stop eating pork altogether to avoid providing a
breeding ground for the accompanying worms and parasites that live in swine.
2. Cook
Well: Stop using aluminum and non-stick pans when you cook your foods. Do not use toxic chemicals to clean your home. Instead
try using an iron skillet for stove-top cooking, and using baking soda for household cleaning,
respectively.
3. Dietary
Supplementation: Take a liquid multivitamin
daily and
consider glutathione
supplementation to raise glutathione levels in your body.
The primary benefit of
ingesting a liquid multivitamin versus pill-form is in its ability to be absorbed more readily by your
body.
Glutathione is a naturally
occurring substance in every cell of your body and is considered to be the body’s master antioxidant as well as the
guardian of the cell. But the problem is that it gets diminished -- due to a variety of factors -- by about 10-15%
every decade you live. When you raise your glutathione
levels, your body’s cells are better able to do their inherent functions, including immune system support,
energy production, detoxification and other vital functions.
[Note: An ex-coworker of mine who is an
Internist and heart specialist would also advocate adding fish
oil, vitamin E, vitamin D and a baby aspirin to your daily supplementation regimen when you are over
50. (But, of course you can substitute 10-15 minutes
of daily sunshine and eliminate the need to supplement vitamin D).]
4. Fast:
Fast once a year to
cleanse and detoxify your system. I personally do a yearly 19-day fast from sunup to sundown for
religious reasons and health reasons. Still, you might choose to approach it another way. Some people do a
one day per week water or juice fast to give the body a rest and eliminate toxins. This is a healthy way to
fast if you are new to this way of cleansing and detoxifying the body. If you do a juice fast, remember to
use freshly squeezed juices and not the over the counter juices (unless you can see them made fresh at your
local whole foods market). The use of distilled water for your water fast is
recommended.
5. Exercise:
Walk, run, swim or do some type aerobic exercise at least 30-45 minutes, 3 times a week. Do strength
training.
6. Know
Where You Stand: Have yearly physical exams to include a mammogram if you are female and prostate cancer
screening if you are male. Yearly eye health screening is important too, especially
if you have a family history of diabetes or glaucoma. Early detection is key.
7. Companionship: If you live alone, get a dog or cat for
company. Studies show having
a companion whose company you enjoy increases longevity. Other physical health benefits have also been noted
such as lowering high blood pressure.
8. Philanthropy: Volunteer in your community. Tithe. Laugh. Have fun. Be generous.
Be grateful for what you have. Serve others. All of these activities are core to feeling happy and
being fulfilled in your life.
9. Best of
All: If you can only do one of these 9 things, supplement with
glutathione which
may help your mental focus and in turn help you figure
everything else out and have all the energy you need to live your best life ever.
In the battle to determine which is more beneficial to
health: nutrition versus exercise, we find most health experts say what you put in your body is more of a
determinant of how healthy you will be than exercise.
But do be careful who you get your glutathione boost
from, since taking it orally does not work because it is a protein that gets broken down in the digestive
system long before it reaches your cells.
The good news is that this dilemma was solved in 2007, when a
world-renowned scientist by the name of Dr. Robert Keller shared with us a breakthrough formula that has been
clinically shown to increase glutathione levels by a whopping 276%
in persons who took it for 60 days. Dr. Keller's formula as marketed by Max International is
the only patented product that can make this claim. The formula works by giving your body the building
blocks of glutathione, thereby allowing your cells to increase their own production of
glutathione.
“I’m
stronger. I’m wiser. I’m better. So much better.”
That’s it.
